The 21st China Medical Team recently journeyed to the remote highlands of Midlands Province, Zimbabwe, at the behest of DinSon Steel Co., Ltd. They rendered complimentary medical services to the company’s Chinese and Zimbabwean staff, as well as local community members.
The initiative commenced at the DinSon Steel facility following a four-hour trek. The team swiftly organized and provided an array of services, including medicinal donations, traditional Chinese acupuncture, blood pressure and glucose assessments, ECG screenings, health consultations, and multi-disciplinary treatments. Employees lined up for care, and the team’s proficiency and commitment received widespread acclaim.
The following day, the medical team traveled to the Manhize Nyikavanhu clinic in Chirumhanzu District. Local residents, informed about the free medical services, arrived early with their families. The well-prepared medical team, in collaboration with three local nurses, conducted health education on prevalent diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, and trauma first aid. Despite limited space and crowded conditions, the team provided free medical, surgical, and traditional Chinese medicine services to over 400 local residents.
Annah, the clinic manager, remarked: “The local medical infrastructure is underdeveloped, and transportation is challenging, making it difficult for many impoverished villagers to access treatment. The free medical services provided by the China medical team have significantly alleviated their difficulties. Additionally, your efficient and high-quality service for so many patients is truly commendable. We hope that Chinese doctors can offer long-term assistance and guidance to us!”
